As we know sugar is a type of carbohydrates and if we consume equal amount of fats and sugar then more energy will be produce by the fats as comapre to sugar this is because fats are hard to break and they require more energy to oxidise so that there end product can turn into carbon dioxide and water this is on the basis of gram to gram energy but if we talk about which will provide rapid energy it will be sugar then fats.
