Phylogenetic trees repesent evolutionary relatioship between two or more different biological species.The nodes in trees repsresent the taxonomic units and internodes represent the taxas which are not clear in phylogenetic tree. The distance between two nodes gives rough estimates of time taken for evolution.
The trees can be drawn with various set of data. The phylogenetic tree can be constructed by molecular data like protein sequence ot gene sequence while it can also be constructed by using physical data like presence or absence of particular trait.
The trees constructed using morphological and developmental data are less accurate as compared to molecular data.
