1 teaching as a bigining course the teaching evolution in the biology major to a freshman has the following major advantages according to me-
(1) the students will have better understanding about past and roots of human history of evolution and evolution roots of other organism, it this course the basic elementary knowledge about evolution can be included.
(2) the student will be well informed about evolution and wll have better understanding of the biology course and will nearly have the answers why the organisms are like that only. why the certain animal live like this and why the reproduction and other mode of functioning is like this.
the following are disadvantages of this method
the course will increase the burden of study on the freshman. the subject will alter the effectivenes of other course subjects.
(2) the teach embedded within all biology course but not as stand alone course
advantages
this method has following advantage
the students will have the knowledge of basic principle of evolution and this course will be suplimented with basic biology this will provide deeper understanding.
this course will be an essential part of syllabus and the course will be of less cradit, so the knowledge essential for understanding will be provided and this will not be a burden.
disadvantages
the student will not give appropriate attent to this evolution subject,
the main purpose of teaching will not be accomplished.
(3) teach as a capstone course for the biology major
ADVANTAGES
the students has better understanding about evolution by research work and practicals because human nature is to remember things that they do on the regular basis and it will provide much better understanding of evolution principle.
DISADVANTAGES
th student will not have enough time to learn about the advancement of technology in biology. this is an old times course and this learning will decrease the number of student in course.
