The organim wildevelop a muttion and that mutation will pass on to the offspring The organism will develop a utation but that motation will NOT pass on to the offrin The organism will be ine but the cellin which the error occur will have to commit apoptosis icell death The organism and the cell will be fine, but the cell will produce mutated versions of the protein for the rest of its gm and the c wi fne the cell willay produce an atered version of the prot Question 16 0/1.66 pts Based on this chromosome diagram, which of these allele pairs is least lkely to assort independently 5 6 8 9 D F

Explanation / Answer

What would be the effect of having a mutation occur during transcription

ANSWER IS:

The organism and cell will be fine and cell will temporarily produce altered version of protein.

EXPLANATION:

Transcription is the first step in protein synthesis in which a strand of DNA is copied to make a strand of mRNA.

Mutations vary in their effects as it depends on whether they occur in gametes or in other cells of the body.

If mutations occur in gametes then it can be passed on to offspring.

If nutations that occur in body cells cannot be passed on to offspring.

Mutations in transcription produces protein that is unusable.

Mistakes made during DNA replication affect all the RNA and protein whuch is made from that sequence. Mistakes in transcription would affect RNA strand and the proteins it codes for.

When DNA is mutated, then mistake will be permanent. As many mRNA are produced during transcription. Many mRNA are transcribed from each gene and those mRNAs are reused many times.
If mutated protein is made, it will stay in the cell until it is degraded. If defective protein persist in the cell and DNA is not mutated, then new copies will not be defective.

So I hope it will be clear to you that transcription will not produce permanent mutated protein whereas mutations in DNA produces...
