Yes, interaction of genetically modified organism (GMO) and entering into the natural environment is an important concern for the researchers. The GMO will survive in the new environment as they have modified genes according to the environment . They can survive high pressures and difficult to errdaicate . It also modifies the exsiting wild type animals in the area . GMOs has some different engineered gene compared to the wild type. If the new trait is transffered to the wild type , usually it will disappear and appears only in the case of selective advantage. Thus , the wild type develops tolerance to the new trait and thus GMOs alters the wildtype animals also. Horizontal gene transfer also takes place where the new trait is picked up bacteria and viruses. They try to cause serious illness and becomes difficult to erradicate from the environment. GMOs will be more sustained in the new environment as self replicating RNAs has certain limitations and their activity is much less compared to GMOs. This nis because GMOs are modified organisms and they can survive in extreme conditions . They are engineered in such a way. Thus , GMOs will survive in new environment.
