Hi

When I registered for this site, I did so because it said that I would find all the solutions to Discrete Mathematics and its Applications on this site. Sadly, this is not the case. Not all of the questions are done, and I have found multiple mistakes in various answers. I am extremely frustrated to say the least. I have attached a picture of one question that I need the answer to as soon as possible, and I'd appreciate it if it can get done. Thank you so much!

Question: Suppose that a store offers gift certificates in denominations of 25 dollars and 40 dollars. Determine the possible total amounts you can form using these gift certificates. Prove your answer using strong induction.

Explanation / Answer

Let the number of gift certificates with denomination of 25 dollars be x
Let the number of gift certificates with denomination of 40 dollars be x

Total Amount = 25x + 40y. where the value of x and y can be any natural number greater than or equal to zero

The given thing will be true for 25,40,50,75,80

25 = 25 * 1, 40 = 40 * 1

It will be true for any number that satisfies the given equation
