Question

Objective: to estimate the temperature of hot water when water falls to the base of shower stall.

Evaluation criteria

Observation (50%): describe how water comes out of showerhead and falls to the base of shower stall.

Modeling (50%): Using heat transfer knowledge (conduction, radiation, and convection), setup a mathematical model to estimate the temperature of hot water after hot water leaves shower head. You can make a number of assumptions, including the initial temperature of hot water, flow rate of water (i.e., 2 gallon per min), the height of showerhead (i.e., 6 ft), the number of holes in showerhead, the surrounding temperature, etc.
