1. Applying paint coatings and maintaining their integrity is a highly labour-intensive and expensive method of preventing corrosion throughout in-service life. Are you aware of any other innovations in Corrosion control not mentioned in this paper, and given that paint coatings are currently the primary method of corrosion control in marine applications, do you foresee this or other methods as being the way ahead in the market for corrosion control in the future?

2. If you were a ship owner, operator, maintainer or designer, what do you think would be the most important elements to be included in an effective corrosion control plan for the life of the vessel?

1applying paints coatings is the easiest and cheapest way to prevent metals from crrosion. other methids will not work in marine application such as film formation because this method can be used only for storage. paints can be easily applied and removed. other may have some problem. in marine we have to deal with water and salts present in it which can be prevented by polymer film only which withstand against marine environment for long time. other methods are use of better alloy but this may have high one time cost.

2.if i were a ship owner or whatever i would  be committed to minimizing the impact of corrosion on total ownership cost (TOC), readiness, availability, maintainability, and safety.

I consider corrosion prevention and control to be a life cycle problem impacting both acquisition and sustainment.

I would be committed to evaluating and implementing effective CPC processes, procedures, and technologies during all stages of surface ship acquisition and sustainment
