To answer this question you will need to refer to the chegg solution Ch. 12 #177 Engineering Mechanics: Dynamics 11th edition Hibbeler because there is a drawing of a pulley system. I tried to take a pic of the drawing and post it but for some reason it wasnt working.

Here's the actual question. The crate is being lifted up the inclined plane using the motor M and the rope and pulley arrangement shown. Determine the speed at which the cable must be taken up by the motor in order to move the crate up the plane with a constant speed of 4 ft/s.

The solution seems very simple but Im a lil confused on how they got L = 2Sa + (Sa - Sp) but the rest of the solution is very clear to me. Please explain that part. Thanks
