2. During the SDS-PAGE portion of 2-D electrophoresis proteins areseparated by their pIs. (This is false because during SDS-PAGE,proteins are separated by mass)
3. The proteins expressed in a liver cell in your body will changesignificantly over the life of that cell. (I'm not sure...I thoughtthis was false because proteins expressed shouldn't change"significantly")
4. During the SDS-PAGE portion of 2-D electrophoresis a proteinwith 400 residues 4% of which are lys will be well separated from aprotein with 200 residues 8% of which are lys. (I don't knowhow to determine if this is true or false.)

If there is anycondition provided like the cell is subjected to mutations etc.,then the answer will be false. 2.False. In 2-Delectrphoresis the proteins are separated basing on theirmass/charge ratio and not through their pI's butas SDS is used the charge of the protein becomes negative and theproteins are separated basing on their mass. Proteins are separatedbasing on their pI's by Isoelectric electric focussing. 3.False. As the genes are the samein the liver from the birth to the death of an organism theproteins expressed in the liver cell in the body will notchange significantly over the life of that cell. 4.True. In SDS-PAGE proteins areseparated on their charge by mass ratio, but as SDS is used all theproteins attain net negative charge and theyare separated basing on their mass. In SDS the differentsubunits of the protein are also separated.
