6. Critical review of a newspaper article You have to write a critical review of a newspaper story/article related to Earth Sciences. You need to do the following; Get a newspaper. Not internet, not magazine; but a real hard copy of a newspaper like The San Jose Mercury News, The Argus (Fremont, San Francisco Chronicle (San Francisco), New York Times (New York), The Guardian (London), Dawn (Karachi), etc. Date of the newspaper should be from today till the due date of this assignment. Find a story that interests you and you think is related to physical geography. (Actually everything can Read carefully. As per article published in New York Times on 02.12.2016 named "News Report on Global Temperatures Is Wrong, Scientists Say" .I have reviewed this article.
Main theme of the article is denial of recent claims that said that recent increase in global temperature that our Earth is experiencing is not due to climate changes due to human intereferrence with nature but due to El Nino like natural phenomenas.It was a big and significant result if it would have been proved true as global warming is major threat for earth inhabitants in coming years.
Scientist have denied that the studies result was based on incomplete data and can not be considered seriously.They said not only El Nino did not played significant role in global warming , both climate chnage and El Nino played.El Nino is a natural phenomena in which temperature of water increases in eastern Pacific region which affect weather and temperature .The recent study that claimed El nino is major factor behind global warming only analysed temperture over land that is just 30 % of whole earth surface so cannot be taken seriously.
This article is related to Earth Sciences as this article addressed global warming issue and also a natural weather phenomena El Nino .
