Question

Saturn appears to emit heat as infrared radiation in excess of the energy absorbed from sunlight and also the Kelvin-Helmholtz Contraction. The most likely major cause of this excess heating is energy released from the continuous shrinking and condensation of this fluid planet. remnant heat from the original formation of the planet. the radioactive decay of naturally occurring isotopes in the atmosphere and interior of Saturn. the condensing of helium into droplets that fall into the planet, releasing gravitational energy as heat.

Explanation / Answer

% Saturn is deficient in helium.it has 94% of hydrogen and 6% of helium, and helium droplet form when there occure helium rain which means when the temperature is below 15K and helium is convert into helium droplets, so by this process the saturn cools faster and it emits more energy than it absorbs.
