2 a) If the water in well B is contaminated , the groundwater pollution from the waste pit cannot be blamed.
b) Because there exist a valley between the wate pit and well B, Hence the Polluted groundwater from the waste pit enters the stream in the valley rather than flowing uphill to contaminate well B.
3. a) Surface stream from sample site 1 will not be contaminated by groundwater from either the waste pit or the pasture.
b) Because sample site 1 is at a higher elevation than the waste pit and the pasture. hence the contaminated groundwater cannot travel uphill to contaminate surface stream water of Sample site 1.
