Explain how you determined this. Heat is being taken as time gões on the temp goes dlown, being tafen asg euse auwa, I can tell because b) What is the substance doing between minutes 1 and 327 C) What state of matter is the substance in st the end of segment d Gust before the beginning of segment e)? d) What is happening during segment a,c, and e? e) . In what state of matter is the substance during segment a? e? e? Which segment represents the point during which the gas is turning into a liquid? What is this process calied? a Which vegment rg which th liquid is uing ino sod hat is ipre long did it take for the substance to condense completely? (Prom the beginning of the condensation r to the end- don't start w/ minute 01). How a cooling curve for water or for a different substance? How do y?

Explanation / Answer

a) Heat is being removed from the substance as the temperature of the substance decreases from 0 second to 9 second.

b) The substance is changing its phase from 1 second to 3 second this can be inferred as there is no decrease in temperature of the substance.

c) At the end of segment d the substance is in the form of a solid as the phase change is shown by the segment d.

d) During the segments a, c and e there is no change in the phase of the substance and only the heat is dissipated from the substance which can be seen by decrease in the temperature of the substance.
