Question

4A- Write a page constructive critique of “Sustainable Water Management Assessment and Recommendations for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi". You should consider what its strengths are and how it could be improved. Imagine that you were handed this analysis as a "draft report" and it was your job to improve it - what would you suggest? The suggestions you make should probably reference some of the many topics already covered by the readings. Your critique could address the methods, assumptions, presentation style, or other aspects.

Did the analysis use the right methods for their goal? Did they properly treat time preference, uncertainty, and human decision-making? Are the questions that they answered useful for decision makers?

13. Develop low water requirements forestry sector

beside thease --- 1) increasing the capacity of artificial recharge using excess produced desalinated water & treated wastewater.

2) domestic rainwater harvesting system can be utilized to save existing surface & ground water. In many countries rain water is used as primary & potable water sourcefor domestic & irrigation purpose.

3) at some places of UAE salinity of ground water level has doubled. Here sea water intrusion is also a main cause of water salinity in the aquifer, specially near the coast which is known as brackish groundwater. Sporobolus Spicatus is normally found in coastal sabkhas (Arabic wordused for salty flat area normally occurring between desert & ocean.) with soil salinities above sea water.therefore direct sea water can be used for irrigation using halophytes (salt loving plant) in salty water agriculture will save valuable fresh water for domestic use.
