Question

Select one answer. Skittles: The popular Skittles candy comes in 5 colors. According to the Skittles website, the colors are evenly distributed in the population of Skittle 0 points candies. So each color makes up 20% of the population. Suppose that we buy 2 small bags of Skittles. We determine the percentage of green Skittles in one bag and the percentage of orange Skittles in the other bag. Suppose that each bag contains 40 candies. We define the difference in sample proportions as "green minus "orange. Which of the following will give a sample difference of o.10? A. O 10 green and 6 orange B. 4 green and 8 orange C. O range 10 green and 10 o

Explanation / Answer

so here we have 40 Skittles in each bag and the smaple proportions is given as green - orange

So ., Say we have G as green Skittles and O as orange Skittles then to have sample difference as 0.1 the equation can be written as below

0.1= G/40-O/40

so., 4= G-O ----Eq(1)

The above Eq(1) is the desired equation which we are looking for which states that the Green Skittles should be 4 more than the Orange Skittles and so since the option 1 states that 10 Green and 6 Orange i.e. Green Skittles are 4 more than Orange Skittles in this cas the ans is OptionA 10 green and 6 orange

Hope the above ans has helped you in understanding the problem. Good Luck. pls upvote the ans if it has really helped you.
