a. Taking the first 10 names off the class roster would not necessarily form a random sample because this sample will overestimate the students who are off the class roster. In the random sample, each member should have the equal probability to get selected. Selected bias may occur in this case

. b. Taking the first 10 assignment submitted would not necessarily form a random sample because it may lead to overestimating the very active and intelligent students as they submitted the assignment very fast. Selection bias occur in this case

c. Selection of last assignment submitted would not necessarily form a random sample because of there a possibility that students who submit their assignment, at last, may over-represent the less active and below average or average students.. It may lead to selection bias in this case.

d. A better way to select the sample of 10 student assignments that could be selected by using the random number table or computer-generated random number table. In this case from the total number of assignments, 10 students could be selected randomly which would allow each member to equal probability to be selected.
