Question
a. With respect to a raster data set, explain the relationship between spatial resolution, data volume, and capturing variability of a geographic feature or surface.
b. Define constraint analysis, and then use diagrams to help you to describe, conceptually, how Boolean and weighted overlay analyses are performed (you do not have to provide specific ArcGIS steps), and then explain why weighted overlay might be preferable using an example of how constraint analysis can be applied to a real problem.
c. Given a feature class containing roads as lines and that also includes an attribute table containing road types, describe three different methods that can be used to create one feature class containing buffers of different sizes based on road type. Be sure to include every step, and use ArcMap-specific terminology.
Explanation / Answer
a) spatial resolution of a geographical surface or area can be defined as it is the number of the pixel utilizing in the construction of the digital image of any geographical location by the satellite and the remote sensing methods. the image with a higher spatial resolution have the more number of pixel as compared to lower spatial resolutions. the data volume is the gathering of the data of a perticular location with the help of image capture of satelite. the volume of the data consist of geographical features and the specifications. the capturing variability is the ability to analysze the data gathered from the image. thus all these are interrelated with each other.

b) constraint analysis can be defined with the example. suppose there is a company which have the constraint of the such situation which create some environment near it which is not in the control of the company. the company may have the control within itself but not outside of this. the analysis of the power of control upto certain limit is known as the constraint analysis.
boolean overlay analysis can be defined as it is the analysis of the data according to the logistics manner. the result of such kind of the analysis is based on the true and false basis. if the the true come then the result is profitable otherwise it is not. on the otherhand overlay weighted anaysis is the
weighted overlay can be defined as it is the technique for applying the common measurement scale of values to diverse and dissimilar values input to create an integrated analysis. this can be help to analyse the geographical situation like if there we need to build a house then the choosing of the site is a overlay weighted analysis.

c) road can be have the specification according to the making of it in a location. so the geographical location imparts the greater influence on this. if suppose w need to build a road on the mountains then it would be slope and inclinations. if the road is need to pass over the river then we need to make the bridge and mout the road over there. in this way geographical situation influence it.the class are different for the different size of the road.
