Help with this hypothesis test statistics question please! You can use excel or minlab to input the following data
A sample of 100 pandas, collected over a period of 2 years from the Sichuan province in Central China. Using the data answer the following questions
a)For survival of pandas it is important that at least 50% of pandas surviving are female. What is the proportion of pandas in Central China that are female in the sample in the dataset above?
b)Use the information above to conduct a hypothesis test to determine if there is cause for concern about the proportion of pandas in the Sichuan province in Central China who are female. State your null and alternative hypotheses in words and symbols.
c) Use Minitab to compute the test statistic and corresponding p-value.
d)Explain whether you have evidence against the null hypothesis or not.
e)State your conclusion in context in a form that a non-statistician would understand

(a) there are 35 female out of 100,
so proportion of female=p=35/100=0.35
(b) null hypothesis H0:P>=0.5
alternate hypothesis H1 P<0.5
(c) SE(p)=sqrt(p*(1-p)/n)=sqrt(0.35*(1-0.35)/100)=0.0477
we use z-test and z=(p-P)/SE(p)=(0.35-0.5)/0.0477=-3.14,
one tailed p-value=0.0008
(d) generally level of significance alpha=0.05 is taken and p-value is less than alpha=0.05, so we fail to accept H0 and conclude that there is evidence against the null hypothesis.
(e) since we reject null hypothesis or donot accept null hypothesis, it means proportion of female is less than 50%.
