Part a) Our best estimate of the the true percentage ofadults in your prblem's survey is the proportion obtained bythe survey. This proportion is simply 939/1708, or roughly54.9766% of the population. This is thenumber we will form our confidence interval around. Party b) The confidence interval formula is samplesample proportion±Z*(((p(1-p))/N)) which gives you.5498±2.576(((.5498*.4502)/1708)) which gives you(.51876,.58077) Part c) Because .5 is NOT in the confidence interval,there IS strong evidence that the majority (morethan .5) are in favor of immediate government action.
