Test to see ifthere is a difference in the variances such that line 2 yields morevariance than line 1. Use alpha at .05.Hey guys, I'm completely lost on this one. Any ideas?

Explanation / Answer
H1: 12 <22
Test statistic F = S22/S12 = 3761/1432 = 2.626
This has d.o.f n2-1 and n1-1i.e.24,9
F critical with alpha at 0.05 and d.o.f (24,9)= 2.9( from F tables)
Since F test statistic < F critical we can'treject null hypothesis in favor of alternative.
Hope this helps.
