Hi, I am confused about Matched pairst-test and two sample t-test. From what Ihave learned, I understood that a matched pairs t -test is done onsame subject and also get before and after treatments. On theotherhand, in two sample t-test, 2 distinct populations aretaken. ie samples are independent. So my question isregarding an example. If I am taking prices of say 10 productsfrom 2 different grocery chains(ex: price of 1% milk from 2 grocerystores, price of soda etc) and compare theprices to see if the grocery chains have the same pricingon those products, then is this a matched pairs t-test or twosample t-test. I think that this is a 2 sample t-test because the samples areindependent ...It is chosen from 2 different grocery chains andeach grocery store has got there own price for each product...Socan someone please help me out here by saying whether I amcorrect or not. If I am not correct, could you please give me anexplanation...I would really appreciate your help. Thanks Abi Hi, I am confused about Matched pairst-test and two sample t-test. If the samples are independent then we should use two sample t-testand when the samples are dependent then we should use matched pairstest. In this context, it is certain to use two sample t-test.
