Question
An experiment consits of flipping a coin 30 times. Find themean, variance, and standard deviation for # of heads tossed. I have tried all possible outcomes but keep coming upwith answers that are negative and or too long. I have (n)= # of heads when coin is tossed 30 times. With themean i began sorting out the heads and tails, i.e. (hhh), (ttt),(hth), (tht)...and so on, but i don't know where to initiallybegin. Am i on the right track? Any help would be so greatlyappreciated. Thank you. An experiment consits of flipping a coin 30 times. Find themean, variance, and standard deviation for # of heads tossed. What I would do is make flipping a heads 1, and tails 2. Once you have flipped the coin count the number of 1s you have wriiten down. That is your total for heads. Remeber when your doing your calculations that the total is out of 30. You should then be able to use the data to calculate your mean, variance, and standard deviation. Hope i was a little help.
