This can be well explained by taking the example of some of the very famous buildings around the world. Thinking of the famous old buildings, the very first structure or monument that comes to our mind is the beautiful Taj Mahal which is situated in the state of Agra in India. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 1630s and it represents one of the finest example of Mughal architecture in the world. The height of the building is about 171m and its beautiful decorations and carvings on the walls attract around 3 million visitors every year. Next, the Big Ben, situated in London, UK, is another example which is perhaps the largest four faced clock in the world. It was designed by Augustus Pugin and finally built in the year 1858. This clock tower has a height of 96m but unfortunately this building is not open for any visitor. The Burj Khalifa of Dubai, UAE is world famous for being the tallest man made structure in the world with a height of about 830m attracting nearly 1.5million tourists who visit it every year. It is a very recent structure built in the year 2010. Situated in Sydney, Australia, the Sydney opera house is yet another distinctive building which is the greatest venue for performing arts in the world. It was designed by a Danish architect and built in the year 1973 and the building has a height of 65m. The Eiffel Tower of Paris, France is an example of one of the greatest building construction in the past. It is the most visited monument in the world with 7.1million visitors every year.The tower is yet another marvellous piece of architecture built in the year 1889 and is as high as an 81-storeyed building with a height of 320m. Another example of one of the most famous works of roman engineering in the world can be provided by the Colosseum, which was built in the year 80AD in Rome, Italy. With a height of 48m, the Colosseum gets 3.9million visitors every year. So with these examples we can conclude that the architecture in our past was breathtakingly beautiful yet each of these building differ from each other in their respective design and structure with each one of them being unique in its own way.
