Let x be the amount invested in high risk, y in medium risk, and z in low risk.

Then, z = x + y.

The total return is 20420 on total investment.

The money available is 220000.

So, x + y + z =220000, z = 110000, and x + y =110000.

The return is therefore 0.16x + 0.09y + 0.06z = 20420.

Substitute: 0.16x + 0.09y = 20420
