Question
A tank contains 460 galons of water and 35 oz of salt. Water containing a salt concentration of oz/gal flows into the tank at a rate of 10 gal/min, and the mixture in the tank flows out at the same rate. The long-time behavior of the solution is an oscillation about a certain constant level. What is this level? What is the amplitude of the oscillation? Round the values to two decimal places. Oscillation about a level = oz. Amplitude of the oscillation- oz. Click if you would like to Show Work for this question:Explanation / Answer
the already amount of salt in the tank is = 35 and adding constant rate is 1/3*10 =10/3
so it will oscillate about (35+10/3)oz = 115/3 oz
and amplitude will be 10*(1/3)*(1/8) = 5/12 oz
