Question

8. Consider the following two climates. Note: dotted area shows temperature line above precipitation line, striped shows where the precipitation line is above the temperature line. Solid fill indicates where monthly precipitation is greater than 300 mm. A (10m) B(10m) 16.1C 523 mm 11.9C 1763 mm 500 30 50 100 10 10 To travel from the place represented by the diagram marked "A" (left diagram) to the place represented by the diagram marked "B" (right diagram), in what direction and how far would you need to travel? Note that 10° latitude is about 1100 kilometers. (a) (b) (c) (d) 1100 kilometers south 1100 kilometers north 600 kilometers inland at same latitude 600 kilometers towards the ocean at same latitude

Explanation / Answer

here the precipitation may increase onlu by twi ways either by the cooling air or increase the water vapour . so here the temperature line is not changing from figure from the figure a to b but the precipitation is increased so here the possibility is we have moved towards the ocean with the same lattitude to increase the precipitation.

so option D is the right answer.
