Question
Fill in the blank with one of these answers:
A.) trophic level
B.) respiration process
C.) greenhouse effect
Collectively, some of this heat energy escapes into space, and some of it interacts with greenhouse gases as it travels through the atmosphere. This energy that interacts with greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, causes heat to be reradiated toward the earth, thus warming the troposphere and ultimately the entire planet Heat radiated by the Earth Heat added to troposphere Without this would be too cold to sustain life as you know it, with an average temperature of -19°C (-2.2°F) , earthExplanation / Answer
correct answer should be C) greenhouse effect.
presence of greenhouse gases makes the earth a suitable planet to sustain life without which earth will be a very cold place to live. when sun's radiation reaches the troposhere , its major part of energy is trapped within the troposheric layer and absorbed by greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, ozone, water vapour ,methane and nitrous oxide etc. which ultimately keeps the earth pretty warm and maintains suitable conditions.
but in present times rise of such greenhouse gases (via factory chimneys, vehicles pollution etc.) is warming even more which is not required , such activities has a negative impact on environment of global warming.
