Question
Applied Differential Equations ? Math Project 1 Math Project #1 ? Tumor Population Due Thursday, June 25th, 2015 at 5:30pm 1. (10 points) Tumors are cellular populations growing in a confined space where the availability of nutrients is limited. Suppose the rate of population increase of a particular tumor is proportional to the product of the current population and the natural logarithm of the inverse of the current population. If the tumor begins with 300 cells and it takes 100 days for the population to double, then compute a formula for the number of tumor cells at any time t.Explanation / Answer
Tumor started with 300cells
In 100days , popultion is double, so number of cells 2 * 300 cells = 600 cells.
so, in 100 days (600-300)= 300 cells are produced
Therefore in 1day = (300/100)=3 cells are produced
Therefore in tdays = 3t cells
in t days no. of cell will be 3t.
