Question
1) what is the annual probability of ash fall of 10cm or greater in the Mount Rainier region?2) you will notice that the lava flows and pyroclastic flows distribution are not symmetrical around the summit, suggest one geographic reason for this non-symmetrical distribution
3) you will notice that the tephra’s distribution is kidney bean-shaped. Suggest a reasonable explanation for this distribution
4) what other information would help you interpret the data on the volcanic hazard map more thoroughly? (In other words, what could you add to the map to make the picture clearer!) -you should have atleast 2 other suggestions here, and explain why each would make it clearer? 1) what is the annual probability of ash fall of 10cm or greater in the Mount Rainier region?

Explanation / Answer
1.The annual probability of ash fall of Mount rainier volcano will be 1/3 inch thickness. Ash fall can cause disruption in the ground and air transportation and can cause damage to electronics and machineries.
2. Lava flow is a hot molten rock. It can travel only at the speed of 1mile per hour... It is least deadly to the surrounding communities. But pyroclastic is a very heater and fragmented particles, which travels only at the slopes of the volcano.... So both will have different distribution at the volcano region.
3.Tephra's is a explosive eruption of rock fragments. It's large boulder particles will fall very close to the volcano and it's small dust particle will fall far away from the volcano through the downwind. This process will leave the shape of kidney-bean over the tephra distribution.
4.Tone and shape will be good enough to interpret the data.
Tone- will show the colour variation in the volcano hazardous map by using remote sensing data.
Shape- we can manually recognize the data with the different shapes present in the map.
