same problem different give. I only need CORRECT answers.
A rectangular tank that is 3 meters long, 2 meters wide and 6 meters deep is filled with a rubbing alcohol that has density 786 kilograms per cubic meter. In each part below, assume that the tank is initially full, and that gravity is 9.8 meters per second squared. Your answers must include the correct units (a) How much work is done pumping all of the liquid out over the top of the tank? units b) How much work is done pumping all of the liquid out of a spout 2 meters above the top of the tank? ) How much workisdone pumping all of the liquid out of units (c) How much work is done pumping two-thirds of the liquid out over the top of the tank? units d) How much work is done pumping two-thirds of the liquid out of a spout 2 meters above the top of the tank? unitsExplanation / Answer
part (a)
dimension of the tank is
long=3m
wide =2m
deep=6m
therefore,volume of the tank is
V=2*3*6=36m3
and the given density is=786 kg/m3
therefore mass of the tank is
MASS=VOLUME*DENSITY
M=36*786kg
and acceleration due to the gravity is=9.8m/s2
so,the force acting on the tank is=M*9.8
F=36*786*9.8 Newton
and the work done is
Workdone=force *Displacement
(a)
so,in pumping all the liquid out over the tank
displacement is =6m
so,
Workdone=36*786*9.8*6 joule
(b)
in pumping 2m above the tank
displacement=2m
so,
W=36*786*9.8*2 joule
(c)
in pumping 2/3rd of the liquied out over the tank
initial volume of the liquid is=36m3
so,2/3rd volume of the luquid =24m3
mass=24*786kg
force =24*786*9.8 Newton
therefore workdone in moving this amount of luquid out over the tank is
W=24*786*9.8*6 joule
(d)
in pumping 2/3rd of the luquid 2m obove the tank is
W=24*786*9.8*2 joule
part (b)
all the answer will be same because deepness in this case is also 6 meter and volume is same for both the tank.
