Answer: Food prices spike in (especially in corn) in 2007-2008, this is because of increase of oil prices during 2007-2008. This increase of oil prices indirectly effefts the fertilizer prices, agriculture, food transportation. So oil price increases then drastically food prices also increases. Corn has been using to produce boifuel, so this can effects increase the price of corn during 2007-08, this is because of high demand for fuel during 2007-2008.
