NUTRITION FACTS Take a look at this nutrition facts label.....scroll down as needed NUTRITION FACTS Calories-480 Total Fat-15 g saturated fat -7 g trans fat 0 g Cholesterol- 75 mg Sodium-910 mg Total Carbohydrate-60g dietary fiber -5g sugars-8 g Protein -28 g Vitamin A-30 % Calcium-30 % Vitamin C-50% Iron-20% Based on what is on the above nutrition facts label, tell me what you think the food product is? Write a narrative that explains your thought process as you narrow down the choices, using all the knowledge you have learned over the semester. Once you have narrowed your choices, make your best educated guess and state what information you used to draw your conclusions. You don't need to search the store shelves to complete this assignment. I would prefer that you not search for the item but use your knowledge instead to guess as to what it could or could not be.You do not need to correctly guess the identity of the item to get the points..you just need to be able to defend your guess based on the nutrient contentExplanation / Answer
Lets consider the calories given by protein, fat and carbohydrates.
proteins give 4 calories per gram ,here the proteins are 28g which means they provide 28 x 4 = 112 cals
carbs give 4 calories per gram, here the carbs present is 60g which means that calories 60 x 4 = 240 cals
fats provide 9 cals from one gram , here the fats are 15g , which means the fat provide 15 x 9 = 135 cals.
As we can see , large amount of calories are provided by the carbohydrate, which means it is a sweet dish, which contains igh amount of sugars.
As we can see , major constituent is calcium (50%) . sources rich in calcium is milk, breads, nuts etc.
Vitamin A is also present as 30% , which is present in eggs, skimmed milk etc
Vitamin c is present in citrous fruits,
So according to me , It should be either an pineapple ice cream or an pieapple cake which contains egg.
