A) Chemotherapy is used as a treatment modality in many cancers. Each patient who receives chemotherapy responds differently to it. The side effects of chemotherapy are both physical and emotional. Therefore, we should provide both physical and emotional support to the patient before and during chemotherapy. The side effects of chemotherapy varies according to the type of drugs used. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, hair loss, fever, infections, mouth sores, neuropathy and menopause. These side effects should be explained and the ways to tackle them effectively should be taught beforehand to the patient's before starting chemotherapy.
