Mother: IgG positive, IgM positive Newborn: IgG positive, IgM negative c.Mother: lgG positive, IgM negative Newborn: IgG positive, IgM negative x d, Mother. IgG positive, IgM negative Newborn: IgG negative, IgM negative ? e. Mother: IgG positive, IgM negative Newborn: IgG positive, lgM positiveExplanation / Answer
The correct option is E
In rubella infection the mother will have both the antibodies IgM and IgG she will be positive to both, but only IgG antibodies are transferred from mother to the foetus through placenta and not IgM.
IgM is produced by humoral cell response and if in test they are detected IgM in chlid then it goes to prove that child has developed an intrauterine infection due to rubella.
