Ans.Dermatophyte fungus of genera Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, and Microsporum can cause this disease.

ii. What are the symptoms of this disease?

Ans. Itching, burning, blisters, soring, stinging in between the toes are the major and most common symptoms of the tenia pedis.
iii. What feature is most diagnostic of this fungus?

skin lesion potassium hydroxide (KOH) test is the main diagnostic feature of this disease in which the affected normal cells dies off and the fungal cells retain that can be observed and confirmed under miocroscope.
