Environmental causes:-

They have specialized their sexual competition and there are traits that make one bird more attractive than other. They are known for their sexual selection and are known to sexually select partners that are more attractive. Environmentally, they are known to have bright and flashy colours that signals male is healthy. Environmentally they are known to have saturated colors, fuzzy feathers and streamer tails and the females choose to mate depending on the attractiveness of the male.

Social causes

Sexual selection is one of the social causes where the males puff their feathers, vibrate and buzz to show their colorful assets and is a way to potentially mate. The females choose the most attractive male based on their displays. The genes are aesthetically pleasing factors that pass on from one generation to other.

The male birds are constantly required to put up an attractive show in order to attract the attention of the female to mate. This is a social cause that is involved in the sexual reproduction behaviour for the birds. The female has an upper edge in the selection process.
