Answer: Homeostasis is the process opted by the body to maintain the variables in the body systems. It main example of homeostasis is regulation of temperature, pH, and blood calcium level maintenance. During the development of body, the mineral presence plays a vital role. The main body minerals are calcium, potassium, and iron. The most common mineral is calcium found in the body which helps in the formation of bones and teeth, but it is seen that the calcium plays an important role in blood flow and muscle maintenance. The blood contains a very less concentration of the calcium but it is very much important and its level in blood is maintained by three hormones i.e. vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH) and Calcitonin. The calcium storage takes place in bones and plays a critical role in blood calcium levels. When there is a deficiency of calcium in blood at that time the cell osteoclasts break down bones so that calcium level can be maintained in the bloodstream.

Answer: Bones plays an important role in blood calcium level maintenance. Osteoclasts cells involved in the breakdown of the bones tissue to regulate or maintain the calcium level.

What is the role of the integumentary system in blood calcium regulation?

Answer: The integumentary system consists of the skin, hair, nails, glands, and nerves. The integumentary systems i.e glands (endocrine gland) plays a major role in the calcium regulation and it also increases the absorption of calcium ions in the intestine.
