Explanation / Answer

Do we know about what there is behind the meat containing our hamburgers or the meat that we buy every weekend at the supermarket? The answer could be yes: a farm where animal can pasture and walk freely along a wide space with grass and fresh air; factory farm is a system of rearing livestock using highly intensive methods, by which poultry, pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions. Ninety-nine percent of all U.S. farms are owned by individuals, family partnerships or family corporations. Eight percent of U.S. farms market foods locally through farmers’ markets and food hubs. However, reality could not be as pleasant as we think. Actually, the majority of animal’s life, whose meat we eat, is worse than a nightmare for humans. So, we can choose the alternate diet instead of meat. Tofu or tempeh are plant-based and made from soybeans. TVP, or texturized vegetable protein, is also made from soy. Seitan is made from wheat gluten. They can replace any recipe of meat. If we want meaty taste, that umami, mushrooms are the way to go. Their flavor is rich, earthy, and meaty. Technically, jackfruit is a fruit but incredibly, it can stand in for meat in savory dishes. If we prefer veg item, eggplant is probably the first vegetable that comes to mind. Lentils are hearty and can able to replace ground beef easily. Fish is also a preferable substitution for meat items.
