Question
.A portion of a polypeptide contains the amino acids N-Trp-Lys-Met-Ala-Val-C. Write the possible mRNA and template strand DNA sequences that would code for this sequence of amino acids. Use A/G and T/C to indicate that either adenine or guanine or thymine or cytosine could occur in a particular position and use N to indicate that any DNA nucleotide could appear.'t
" """""""""""Should'nt Answer for the first sigment should be UGG according to the chart"""""".??????????????????????????????????
If the answer could be explained in deatil, I would greatly appriciate it.
Explanation / Answer
I am unable to see the table you have provided so I am using the universal table available on the internet which should be same as yours.
The mRNA sequence could be:
5'- UAU AAA AUG GCU GUU UAA -3'
The DNA sequence should be:
3'- ATA TTT TAC CGA CAA AUU -5'
The highlighted part is stop codon that does not code for any aminoacid but is used to terminate the translation. Hence it is not shown in the aminoacid sequence but it should be there in the mRNA and DNA sequence.
