Explanation / Answer
Ans 15. In cataract a cloudy deposition occurs in the lens as a result of which the vision gets blurred. A new lens would be implanted in such case. Prior to implantation the cloudy deposition needs to be cleared. The process which is known as phacoemulsification where incisions are done to remove the deposition. The surgery reduces the risk associated with the cataract lens implantation. As a result of which surgery is performed prior implanting a lens.
Ans 16. It occurs due to the perception of the blind spot. Light enters the eye through the pupil and hits the retina at the back of the eye. The retina is covered with light sensing protein. They relay back what they sense through the optic nerves and carries information back to brain. The optic nerve ends in the field of retina itself. As a result of which if the person is looking through one eye the brain fills in the spot surrounding the picture. Hence the given scenario occurs that is the occurence of the black spot.
Ans 17. The time delay after the illumination is to figure out the delay in time which may occur for the information to reach the brain via the optic nerve.
