1. Spontaneous generation also called as abiogenesis refers to the generation of life or living forms spontaneously from non living matter . This concept of origin of life was supported by Thales,Anaximander and Descrates.
2. Theory of biogenesis was put forward after series of experiments by Redi,Spallanzani and Pasteur. This theory states that life originates only from existing forms of life and life cannot originate spontaneously.
