I think that this is a great thing for a person because that way they will have something to fall back on if an emerency arises. By "paying yourself first" you find out that you invest more in the long run. Your investments are treated as another part of your regular budget. It also forces you to pay for investments automatically, which prevents you from being able to spend all of your disposable income.Yes it does make sense for most peoples because a person may have a gambling problem or another addiction and goes out and blows their money, but with the AIP they will not have that money to blow away and lose, and yes it make sense for me as well because I want to start my own business one day and with the little I put back every pay check it will help me towards that goal. Yes I plan to follow the principles of AIP, because it is the best way to save for accomplishing my goals.
