O low hematocrit O low white blood cell count O low plasma volume O low platelets count QUESTION 25 What are the two major control mechanisms that regulate the glomerular filtration rate (GFR)? O autoregulation and extrinsic sympathetic control autoregulation and intrinsie sympathetic control O extenal regulation and extrinsic parasympathetic control O internal regulation and intrinsic parasympathetic control QUESTION 26 A freely floating clot is called a(n): O emboli O thrombi O crematorium

Explanation / Answer

1.the cardiovascular system mainly consists of Heart, blood vessels and blood and these are three essential components of the cardiovascular system / circulatory system.

2. Anemia is charecterized by hematocrit. :  The hematocrit blood test determines the percentage of red blood cells (RBC's) in the blood. The hematocrit test indicates the percentage of blood by volume that is composed of red blood cells. The condition called "anemia" results from having too few red blood cells.

3. the two major controlling mechanisms of GFR are : Autoregulation and Extrinsic sympathetic control.

Intrinsic controls of GFR: renal autoregulation --kidneys regulate their own blood flow; this mechanism prevails most of the time.

Extrinsic controls of GFR: hormonal regulation :Hormonal regulation of GFR via renin-angiotensin system: maintains systemic blood pressure, and therefore GFR. Renin is the hormone secreted into the blood by granular cells . it serves an enzymatic function. The Stimuli for an increase in renin release include Reduced stretch of granular cells and Sympathetic stimulation of granular cells.

4. A blood clot fragment freely floating in the bloodstream is called a(n) embolus (plural -emboli).

an Abnormal clotting of blood in an unbroken blood vessel is called thrombus ( plural--thrombi)
