Chief Complaint: RM an 8-year-old girl is taken to the local clinic and presents with excessive thirst, frequent urination, and weight loss. History: RM, an 8-year-old girl in previously good health, has noticed that, in the past month, she is increasingly thirsty. She gets up several times a night to urinate, and finds herself gulping down glassfuls of water. At the dinner table, she seems to be eating twice as much as she used to, yet she has lost 5 pounds in the past month. In the past three days, she has become nauseated, vomiting on three occasions, prompting a visit to her pediatrician.

2A. she may not properly inject the glucose in the her body. She may inject insulin more than required. She must carry a candy in case the insulin levels are too high according to the body's glucose levels. In such a case she may experience dizziness/weakness due to reduced levels of glucose in the blood.

She cannot be given medicines that stimulate the production of insulin by pancreas because her Beta cells of pancrease are unable to produce insulin, the problem doesnt lie with the regulation of the insulin production or stimulation of pancreas to produce insulin,

3B. the glucose test gives the current level of the blood glucose level however, the glycated Hb test gives you the blood glucose levels of the past 2-4 months.

4A. complications related to metabolism can develop such as in thyroid function, she may enter a diabetic coma, weight loss weight gain.

4B. Because diabetics develop poor circulation which may lead to development of sores in the feet which may take time to heel in diabetics. Moreover, a poor circulation leads to loss of sensation in the feet
