Explanation / Answer

ANSWER: Toxicant B is more potent

LD50 is the lethal dose which kills 50% of the population. Hence, the toxicant which causes 50% lethality in the population at a lower dose is more potent. Therefore 1 mg/kg of toxicant B which causes 50% lethality is more potent than the Toxicant A whose 1 mg/kg causes only 45% lethality in the population.
