The loss of predator in the (American cougar) , can result in the phenomenon known as “trophic cascade” in which the change , whether (increase or decrease), result in predator population resulted in the balance of food chain . As, predator , in this case , (American cougar), become reduced, the overall number of deer will increase. This will effect on the establishment context of plant species. May be the population of specific plant species get reduced or get extinct on which deer feed.
3. In ecosystem, dominant species is the one that is most abundant and it share the highest percentage of total biomass in an ecosystem whereas keystone species is the one that have maximum effect on other species in an ecosystem. Dominant species number is highest in an ecosystem whereas keystone species does not have maximum number.
