Using the phylogenies shown below, for each group (A-E), describe whether that grouping is paraphyletic, polyphyletic, or monophyletic? C and E are obviously monophyletic, however, A B and D are difficult to distinguish because the groups are only labeled at the tips and do not show the ancestors included. If anyone can help explain why these 3 would be one or the other (para or poly) I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!
