Diagnosis Botulism

Answer 1. Sarah has been diagnosed with botulism. The cause for it is she has consumed contaminated food that contained botulism toxin.

Answer 2. She had symptoms of weakness in the muscles of arms and legs, double vision, loss of facial expression and swallowing problem that lead to this diagnosis.

Answer 1. Michael is suffering from jaundice. The cause can be liver infection, alcohol abuse, cirrhosis, pancreatic cancer, gall stones, hepatitis etc. The main organ affected with jaundice is liver.

Answer 2. Bilirubin test is done in jaundice. Bilirubin is formed due to the degradation of haemoglobin. If it accumulates in the body it gives pale appearance suggesting jaundice. This bilirubin test measures bilirubin level in the body. High level of bilirubin marks jaundice. Liver function test or LFT is also done to check functioning of liver.

Answer 3. First the exact reason is find out for the jaundice and then the appropriate treatment is given. Like if jaundice induces haemoglobin deficiency then iron rich capsules are given. If it caused due to some blockage then that obstruction is removed surgically. If it is caused due to liver malfunctioning then steroids are given. Increased levels of spinach and radish also helps in the cure of jaundice naturally.
