6.When seed are exposed to the red light followed by the white light,there is marked increase in percentage of seed germination. It is due to the phytochrome mediated conversion of red form which creates a signal pathway for the seed germination.
7.Exposure of white light to the non-germinated seeds is necessary for their germination as white light is equivalent to that of sunlight that is necessary for the seed germination.it induces the gene expression in the seed ,for their germination.
8.There are many reason for the failure of seed germination, it may be due to hard seed coat,accumulation of certain inhibitors like phenolics,tannins in the seed coat and the absence of proper light for seed germination.
